Girls Helping Girls. Period. is a volunteer effort started by two sisters from New Jersey that provides anyone in need with menstrual health products.

Domestic Violence Assistance

DV FlierThe New Jersey Domestic Violence Hotline provides confidential access to domestic violence information and services, including crisis intervention, referral, and advocacy. The hotline is bilingual and accessible to the deaf and hearing impaired. Call 1-800-572-7233 24 hours a day/7 days a week for help.

SAVE (Sexual Assault and Violence Education) of Essex County provides direct services to survivors through a confidential hotline 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. SAVE also has a team of trained Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates who are available 24 hours a day to accompany survivors of sexual violence through any medical and legal procedures. Survivors of sexual assault and their families, friends, and significant others can call 1-877-733-2273 for information, support, and referrals.

The Safe House is a safe shelter for battered women and their children located in Essex County. Call 973-759- 2154 24 hours a day for immediate assistance.
