Our Parks and Facilities are available for use to the residents of Maplewood and South Orange.
Please follow the General Rules for Maplewood Parks if you are interested in holding an event at one of our facilities.
Special Events
If you would like to hold an event for 50 people or more, you will need to:
- Contact the Recreation Department at (973) 762-8120 to check on the availability of your desired facility on your desired date. You can also email the Recreation Department.
- Download and print an Event Application. The fee for this application is $25.00. This application must be submitted to the Township Clerk 30 days prior to your event for approval. You can email the application to Ed Starzynski or bring the application into Town Hall (Town Hall Hours are: Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
Renting a Field or Park
If you would like to rent a field or a park to have an event for less than 50 people, you need to:
- Contact the Recreation Department at (973) 762-8120 to check on the availability of your desired facility on your desired date. You can also email the Recreation Department.
- If available, please print and fill out a Park Request Form. This form must be submitted to Jamie Miranda, Program Supervisor of the Recreation Department, prior to the date that you are renting you park. For prices and fees, please contact the Recreation Department at the above listed phone number or email address.
- A copy of a Certificate of Liability Insurance is required for any event hosting more than 29 people.
Renting the Maplewood's DeHart Community Center
If you would like to rent space at the Maplewood's DeHart Community Center, you must contact Michelle Wesley at (973) 763-0750 to check the availability of your desired space and desired time.
