EMERGENCY WORK  

Work that is considered an emergency, such as replacing a water heater or furnace replacement, or the repairs of storm damage, can be performed without first obtaining a Construction Permit. However, you must contact the Construction Division by e-mail or call (973) 762-8120, extension 3600 to speak to the Construction Official. Please provide your name, address, and a contact number. A Construction Permit Application must be submitted within 72 hours.
